Parlor Playlets

With no television or radio in the Regency Era, families entertained themselves in the evening with music;, playing instruments for each other, singing, and also performing in little scenes for each other. The Austen family and guests did just that, often the playlets written by Jane.

Susan Mulholland has been with the Jane Austen Fest since the idea was presented to her by Margaret. Mount Dora was her home for ten years where she acted at the Icehouse Theatre as well as Bay Street Theatre in Eustis. She was on the Boards of both the Eustis Art League as a well as being President of the Mount Dora Art League. She has a BS in Elementary Ed as well as a minor in Speech and Drama. Teaching for 30 years and 21/2 years in Saudi Arabia added to her life’s adventure. She served as Tea Hostess for two years at the Jane Austen Fest.
