BARBARA SMITH
PRESENTED BY BARBARA SMITH
Always one to enjoy the “company of clever, well-informed people, who have a great deal of conversation” Barbara Smith co-founded the Jane Austen Society of America St Louis Region Monthly Whist Soirée. For nearly 10 years, group members have met in her home to enjoy a variety of parlor games, food and fellowship.
Barb enjoys studying how people lived everyday lives throughout history and finds the best way to learn is to try to replicate everyday activities, from cooking and sewing, to socializing and relaxing. When not playing parlor games you can find her in her sewing room making period clothing, bonnets, parasols, and more. She is also actively involved in JASNA and a variety of lineage societies where she can learn more about her ancestors and how they lived.
