Create a Parasol
A Regency lady wouldn’t go outside without a bonnet or parasol to protect her from the sun. Why should we? At this workshop we will create a parasol from a current costume piece, learning how to adapt it through decorations or by replacing the modern canopy with fabric to match a favorite frock
Participants will receive a costume parasol and start creating their personal parasol in the workshop.
A seam ripper is needed to get started. You may also want to bring a yard of silk, scissors, and needle and thread.
SOME SEWING SKILLS NEEDED.
Presented by Barbara Smith
Barb sold hundreds of parasols through her Etsy Shop ElegantEmporiumSTL and at the Jane Austen Festival in Louisville. Her customers can be found in Italy, Germany, Great Britain, and most of North America. She is a member of the Jane Austen Society and is a historic costume enthusiast.
