Medicine in Jane’s Era: Doctors, Illnesses and “Cures”.

She will cover Regency  theories of medicine, common diseases, cures & quackery, childbearing, dentistry, and medical advances if the era. Jane Austen was no stranger to disease and we will discuss her own experiences. Having been no stranger the last couple of years to disease and even having had to cancel

last year’s Fest, we think this is an appropriate subject to explore.

Elizabeth Paquette hails originally from the Boston area, she now resides in West Palm Beach, FL. With over 35 years as an anesthesia provider, the history of medicine has always interested her. In addition, she is the Co-coordinator of the Palm Beaches Region of JASNA. Combining these two interests,  you can understand why she is speaking on this topic. When she is not reading, you will find her in her butterfly garden with her two Whippets.
