Not Invited

The Regency Era Clothing Police have not been invited to the Jane Austen Fest - February 7, 8, & 9, 2020!

But if you would like to come in Regency era attire, please do.  How quaint for the town of Mount Dora to be blanketed with people in Regency era clothing!  Follow this woman.

Mission Statement

jane austen logo largeIn an atmosphere welcoming to all levels of interest and curiosity, the Jane Austen Fest-Mount Dora strives to present a wide array of programs, presentations and excitement surrounding Jane Austen, the culture of the Regency Era and the culture that evolved from it.

Jane Austen, as a woman, followed her passion and is a relevant role model for today’s women. And to that end we want to help today’s woman follow their passion by offering college scholarships as a out-growth of this festival.

A foot in the 21st Century and a toe in the Regency Era.

Jane Austen is in the air!

Last Saturday, March 2nd, my good friend Susan Mulholland and I had the opportunity to attend a production of Emma at FSU (Florida Southern University) in Tampa.  Everything began to look up after we finally found Theatre II. In the lobby we met some women dressed in Regency attire and when we inquired they, of course, were from the West Coast Florida JASNA region.

The production itself was a wonderful adaptation of Jane Austen's novel Emma. It was adapted by John Webber and directed by Edward Lewis.  USF School of Theatre and Dance's British International Theatre Program has had a 25 year relationship.
