Herb is the Administrative Consult for the Miniature Art Society of Florida (MASF). In that capacity he participates in all aspects of the society’s activities. That is because he is responsible the society’s computer system and for all the data capture and processing. All society activities require data product support. The major effort is the production of the Annual International Miniature Art Show from receiving up to 800 works of art to preparing and presenting the show, taking down the show and distributing the artwork to the collectors and back to the artists.
Herb was born and raised on a small farm in northwestern Pennsylvania near the shores of Lake Erie. He received a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from the University of Detroit and worked for 41 years in the aerospace industry. His career was a series of awesome adventures including several close brushes with history. In his search for “it” hew became an accomplished water skier, a scuba diver, a private pilot and, finally, a sailor. For him sailing is “it” To him sailing is a magic connection of man and nature with only the wind as propulsion.
Herb joined MASF in 2000 after retirement and the 2020 show is the 20th that I have supported. The show is a magnificent display of exceptional fine art. One of the greatest of many joys in working with miniature art is seeing the awestruck response of people who have never seen the show before.
